Dirty Beaches / Paris
A nice little poppy beat surrounded by a great atmosphere of sound. Coming from Vancouver’s Alex Zhang Hungtai.
(sorry for lack of posts lately: switching jobs and moving)
New Animal / Last Winter
I think you are going to be hearing a lot more about this band this year. At least they should deserve some attention that is. Not only is this song dreamy and the vocals amazing, but the entire debut album is free!
Blouse / Into Black
Amazing first track from this band.
Two Bicycles / Fall
Quite a bit different than the other track: much more laid back and ambient.
The Daysleepers / Threnody
Without a doubt my favorite song from them. This song is amazing, and it just gets better and better throughout the song. Wait till it hits the 2:30 mark.
Lanterna / Riverside
Lanterna creates amazing picturesque landscapes with sound, which has been labeled “Ambient Americana”. After listening to them for a couple of years, I learned that Lanterna is actually Henry Frayne from Champaign, IL. A town only a few miles from where I grew up. Anyway, do yourself a favor and pick up “Desert Ocean” and “Sands” at the very least.
Foxes In Fiction / Memory Pools
Dream Pop
Ethereal 77 / Open Skiez
Ethereal 77 is a side project from Ulrich Schnauss, which normally is a little higher intensity than his work he releases under his own name.
Sea Exchange / Fight Till You’re Right
These guys have put out a couple of pretty good albums, and are pretty much unheard of. You can also get both of their albums for free!
Ulrich Schnauss / Look At The Sky (Rob McVey Version)
Airiel / Sugar Crystals (featuring Ulrich Schnauss)
Moonspeed / Silent Sky
There is a fantastic dreaminess to this track. Love the guitar in the second half.
Low / Little Drummer Boy
This is such a great version of this song. Low brings it into the vibe of the indie music scene, without destroying the integrity of the original.
M83 / Teen Angst
Blissfully noisy and atmospheric
SIANspheric / Like Glass
